Nuria Martin Fandos (Barcelona, Spain) earned a degree in Contemporary Dance from Institut del Teatre/Conservatory of Barcelona. She is the recipient the 1st prize of III Certamen Internacional Ciutat de Barcelona. She is a full-scholarship graduate from Certificate Program’s Peridance Capezio Center. She has danced in pieces from international choreographers such as: Charlotta Övferholm, Lali Ayguade, Cindy Salgado, Elisabeth Motley. She currently works with Estado Flotante/Alvaro Gonzalez, DeFunesDance and Suku Dance Lab. Núria joined MICHIYAYA Dance in 2015 with their first production, Project V (5).
Belinda Adam (Medan, Indonesia) moved to Los Angeles in 2009, where she received her A.A. in Dance from Santa Monica College and B.F.A. in Dance from Chapman University. Belinda has worked with Kybele Dance Theater, Kelly Donovan Dance, Holly Johnston and Jennifer Backhaus. She has performed in the works of Seda Aybay, Maria Gillespie, Denise Leitner, and Karen McDonald. Belinda is the co-founder of Suku Dance Collaborative with Talia Moreta where she choreographs and directs. She joined MICHIYAYA Dance in 2015 with their first production, Project V (5).
Stephanie Carlos (East Stroudsburg, PA) received her B.F.A. in Dance from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She has performed works by Sidra Bell, J.E. Kim, Curt Haworth, Helen Simoneau, and Iris Bouche. She has traveled abroad for dance; Attending The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance in Jerusalem, Israel, and was apart of a touring ensemble which allowed her to present her choreography at Centre National de la Danse in Paris, France and Royal Conservatoire Antwerp in Antwerp, Belgium. Currently, she is creating and growing with her own company -esque dance collective. Stephanie joined MICHIYAYA Dance in 2016.
Aliza Russell (Kansas City, MO) is currently enrolled in the NYU Tisch School of the Arts for Dance. She previously studied dance at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance. Prior to moving to New York, Russell attended the Kansas City Ballet where she was mentored closely by Sean Duus, as well as Andi Abernathy and Stephanie Ruch in modern and contemporary. She trained with Haley Kostas' company: Defy Dance Project, and has performed several works by Emma Portner. Aliza joined MICHIYAYA Dance in 2016.
Alexandra Wood (San Jose, CA) received her B.F.A. in Dance from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. She has performed original works by artists Sidra Bell, Rosie Herrera, and Jack Ferver. She has attended programs such as American Dance Festival-Six Week School and ADF Winter Intensives 2014 and 2015 where she was honored to receive the Charles L. and Stephanie Reinhart Scholarship. She is currently working with the collaborative dance theatre company Grain and Salt. Alexandra joined MICHIYAYA Dance in 2016.
Hannah Seiden (Boulder, CO) is a graduate from the NYU Tisch School of the Arts with a B.F.A. in Dance. Hannah has performed works by Shannon Gillen, Merce Cunningham, Cora Bos-Kroese, Pamela Pietro, Travis Wall, Sonya Tayeh, Stacey Tookey, Billy Bell, Chonique Sneed, Jason Parsons, and many others. Most recently, Hannah was selected for Springboard Danse Montreal 2016 where she worked with Bobbi Jene Smith and performed Batsheva repertoire as well as a creation with Shumpei Nemoto. She currently a member of Urban/Tribe dance company. Hannah choreographs and teaches various styles of dance. She is also Pilates mat certified and teaches around the city. Hannah joined MICHIYAYA Dance in 2016.
